Johnston Canyon Campground

Banff National Park

This lovely creekside campground opposite the Johnston Canyon parking is tough to top. It strikes just the right balance between facilities and camper freedom. The 132 sites are spacious and fairly private, and you won’t feel nearly as hemmed in as at some of Banff’s bigger campgrounds. Flush toilets and showers are available, and most sites are suitable for RVs.

The campground was closed throughout 2019 to repair damage from a June 2017 windstorm, but is scheduled to reopen in spring 2020.
