Guided Glacier Lagoon Tour

The great thing about this summer tour is that you will see everything that is on the South Coast tour but then go much further. Enjoy pickup from the greater Reykjavík area and from towns on the way like Hveragerdi, Selfoss, Hella, or Hvolsvollur, and head out to see Seljalandsfoss waterfall with a short stop in Hvolsvöllur. • Seljalandsfoss is very special because you can walk behind it (raincoats recommended). • After that, see another waterfall: Skógafoss. It's a magnificent waterfall, and you can walk up a path to see it from above. • Drive to the black sand beach, Reynisfjara, where you can see the Reynisdrangar rock formations after you see Dyrhólaey. • Stop in Vík for lunch. • After lunch, you will go to Skaftafell with a quick stop first at Kirkjubæjarklaustur. • Then, finally go to see the magnificent Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. • Included in the trip is a boat ride on the amphibian boat, suitable for all ages. The boat ride is only included during the summer, from November through February you will head straight to the Glacier lagoon. You´ll have plenty of time to explore the area and after that head back to Reykjavík with short stops along the way. In the winter time, you'll hunt the northern lights! On the drive home, you´ll be glad that our buses have free WiFi so you can post pictures and videos from the tour. Of course, this is a guided tour so you´ll have the luxury of a knowledgeable guide that will tell you everything about the sites and interesting things along the way. Please note that the boat tour only operates during summer until the end of October so the total tour price is lower in the winter and boat ride not included. But what you gain by going in the winter is a look at the ice chunks on Diamond beach near the lagoon. They're not visible in the summer.

Make your first stop at Seljalandsfoss, possibly Iceland's most-photographed waterfall, which you can actually walk behind. At Skogafoss, take the time to soak up the views and photograph this charming waterfall, with luck you will see a rainbow appear in the spray. Back in the vehicle, it is another 30 minutes to the black beach of Reynisfjara. From a safe distance — the sea is unpredictable and powerful here — enjoy the view from the cliffs near the ocean and the huge waves. See why filmmakers have used this beach in numerous kinds of films.Take a break at the small peninsula of Dyrhólaey, known for its lighthouse, and afterward in Vík, the southernmost village in Iceland, noted for its quaint church perched high on a hill. Reykjavik to Thorsmork, Eyjafjallajokull Small-Group Day Trip

Explore Thorsmork (Þórsmörk), Thor’s valley, a place dear to all who visit it, and Eyjafjallajokull (Eyjafjallajökull) the volcano that captured international attention! You will be picked up in the morning from your hotel in Reykjavik (pick up is also available from Hveragerdi (Hveragerði), Selfoss, Hella and Hvolsvollur (Hvolsvöllur) if requested, and travel south-east through the mountain pass and Hellisheidi (Hellisheiði) plateau towards the town of Hveragerdi (Hveragerði). A geothermal hot bed, the surrounding hills are full of active steam vents and the town is known for it’s greenhouses which are heated by hot water from volcanic hot springs. You will soon find yourself further east in the town of Selfoss, which was settled by Þórir Ásason. Iceland’s first known settler, was also said to have spent the winter of 873-74 “under Mt. Ingólfsfell west of the Olfusa (Ölfusá) river”.Your next waypoint is the charming town of Hella, situated on the banks of one of the best salmon rivers of the country. You will visit the Saga Centre dedicated to Njál’s Saga, and learn that South Iceland is rich in saga history. Here you will turn off the ring road towards Thorsmork (Þórsmörk). You’ll get a brief glimpse of the impressive Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which you will explore on the way back. It is possible to walk up into the recess behind the thundering torrent of water. Named after the Norse god Thor, Thorsmork (Þórsmörk) richly deserves it’s reputation as the “Valley of the gods”. Soon the road ends and the highland tracks begin, the Super Jeeps make easy work of fording flowing rivers that would be impossible in a normal vehicle. Next you will stop at the base of Gigjokull (Gígjökull) glacier before taking a hike along trails and into river canyons in this idyllic park setting. You’ll be able to take time to explore the magnificent canyon of Stakkholtsgja (Stakkholtsgjá).Thorsmork (Þórsmörk) is the place where you can best appreciate the incredible mix of glaciers, rocks and wooded areas (woods are a bit of a rarity in Iceland!) Finally after an Invigorating day, you will head back to the big city.

Reykjavik to Landmannalaugar, Hekla Volcano Private Day Trip

Pick up at 08.00 Duration 9-10 hours Volcanos, Hot pools, Stunning nature, Lava fields, Craters, Gjáin - Hiking. Pick up from Selfoss, Hella, junction road 1 and road 30, available. After boarding our Super Jeeps in Reykjavik, we cross fertile South Iceland farmlands, opening up to grand views – weather permitting – of Hekla volcano´s snow-covered top (elev. 1491m). Hekla´s next eruption is long overdue and expected at any time – you just might catch the show. Since Iceland´s human settlement in the ninth century, Hekla´s 20-30 eruptions have ranged from pretty little tourist attractions to explosive disasters. No wonder Hekla has long been taken for the entrance to Hell for damned souls. Conditions permitting, we may make it up onto the volcano’s eruptive ridge, ca 900m above sea level, where the air is crisp and the views incomparable. Pushing deeper into Iceland´s eruptive interior, we take in and touch scenery so unreal it is repeatedly used for other-world Hollywood A-films. In Landmannalaugar we can hike, or dip in Iceland´s most famous natural hot pool, or both. When you have been suitably geothermal cooked, it’s Super truck time again heading north through “does-this-really-exist” looking surroundings with stop at Gjáin ( Games of thrones site ) before driving towards Reykjavík
