A woman from southern Germany has sued train operator Deutsche Bahn (DB) after she wet herself because the toilet was out of order on the train she was travelling on.
The woman endured a two-hour-long journey from Koblenz to Trier without being able to relieve herself but was unable to reach the station conveniences in time. DB was ordered to pay her €200 in compensation but have been refusing to pay on the grounds that they have no legal obligation to provide toilets on trains. A court of appeal will decide on Friday if the company is still liable.
