It may be the working port of nearby Silifke, but a lovely strip of beach and well-maintained seafront promenade make Taşucu (tah-shoo-joo) a destination in its own right. This is an extremely low-key holiday resort that's a favourite stop for birdwatchers who want to combine some swimming and sunbathing with visits to the nearby wetlands of the Göksu Delta.
Taşucu is also an important transport hub, with ferries for both walk-on passengers and cars travelling to/from Girne in Northern Cyprus. The beach is fronted by Sahil Caddesi, which stretches east from the ferry pier and has several good pensions. Around the harbour, excursion boats depart for day trips (per person ₺40) along the coastline and to nearby islands.
