Hostería Cueva de las Manos

Inland Patagonia

On the doorstep of Argentina’s best deposit of rock art, Hostería Cueva de las Manos sits 60km south of Perito Moreno via RN 40, the last 4km on gravel roads. At this former estancia guests stay in cabins with hardwood details, in the hostería or dorm bunks. Open to the public, the restaurant serves a fixed menu (AR$300) of country classics.

Independent and guided hikers can approach Cueva de las Manos via a scenic but challenging trail (summer only) that descends the canyon and crosses Río de las Pinturas. From the hostería, drive 18km on a gravel road. The last 2.5km is a trail for hikers only.
