Shah Abbas Restaurant

Iran

This hidden, tastefully renovated 640-year-old former hammam oozes atmosphere, with vaulted ceilings and rabbit-warren chambers. Try local pichag qeimeh (tender lamb, diced almonds, caramelised onions and soft-boiled egg stranded with saffron) in the restaurant area before retiring to one of the other chambers for chay (IR35,000) and qalyan (IR100,000); local women smoke quite freely here.
