Seoul’s Namsan will soon become more accessible to travellers with the addition of a gondola that will shuttle visitors up the urban mountain.
Namsan is considered the South Korean capital’s ‘guardian mountain’ and is home to the iconic N Seoul Tower. It is also a popular place for hikers and walkers, as well as anyone who wants to get a bird’s-eye view of the city. Currently, visitors can opt to hike up to the summit or avail of a cable car, which is often plagued with long lines. The city hopes the addition of the gondola will ease strain on the current system, and be handier for travellers, as it will connect to the Seoul Subway at Myeong-dong station.
