Adding yet another epicurean experience in Las Vegas, a chocolatier is giving visitors an inside look at the nitty gritty of chocolate making with a tour of their kitchen. Hexx Chocolate + Confexxions (hexxchocolate.com), which bills itself as Nevada’s only bean-to-bar chocolate maker, has opened its doors for a tasting and tour experience. Right next to the HEXX Kitchen + Bar restaurant in Paris Las Vegas, the tour features an experience curated by head chocolate makers Matthew Silverman and Matthew Piekarski.
Guests can sample HEXX chocolates made from just cacao beans and organic palm sugar, discuss chocolate varietals, and ask questions about the process of making the confections – all inside the very kitchen in which the chocolate is made.
The Behind the Bar tour informs visitors about how beans are sourced from places like Madagascar or the Dominican Republic, processed on the premises and then cooked into single-origin bars. The tour, which runs every half hour, costs $20 per person and includes a variety of tastings.
