“Parisienne acrobate sur les toits de Paris,” or “Parisian acrobat on the rooftops of Paris” was originally posted to the Facebook page of Paris-based website, My Little Paris, and it has already been viewed there over 15 million times.
In the video, the smiling woman beckons to us to follow her as she ascends to a rooftop. She begins running and pirouetting acrobatically across a wealth of Parisian rooftops in a most daring fashion, to the soundtrack of the song “I Love Paris,” performed by Vanessa Paradis.
As she effortlessly leaps and somersaults across the buildings, we are treated to great aerial views of the City of Lights and a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. She startles the Parisians that she encounters along the way, as she climbs in and out of windows and takes leaps from great heights.
In the final frames, the woman reaches her mailbox and discovers a pretty gift box there. It is then revealed that the video is an advertisement for My Little Box, a monthly delivery of beauty and gift samples sent to subscribers, and was filmed to promote the latest box “Mademoiselle” in partnership with Claudie Pierlot.
Given the massive interest in the stunning video, observers note that it’s rekindling interest in the beauty and romance of the French capital. It is hoped that this will help aid the recovery of the city, as it has already lost $846 million in tourism revenue this year following last November’s terrorist attacks.
