A new multi-functional hoodie with 23 different features is currently being backed on Kickstarter and has proven to be popular with hardcore explorers looking to expand their wardrobes.
The Adv3nture Hoodie was created by Zane Lamprey, a travel enthusiast who has hosted shows on National Geographic, Food Network and the Travel Channel. It features nine pockets of different shapes and sizes for easy use, as well as an over-sized hood that can be pulled over the eyes for napping, a sunglasses holder, an earbud loop, a pen pouch and a quick access ventilation zipper that can be pulled down without taking the hoodie off. The whole item even converts into a soft foldable pillow when needed.
The hoodie evolved from a former project called the Drinking Jacket, a top that featured a beer bottle sized pocket, a bottle opening zipper and quick access gloves to keep the hands warm. The jacket was redesigned to become the Adv3nture Hoodie, with the original features being kept while further ones were added to make it more suitable for the outdoors.
“My goal over the past two years has been to create a hoodie that people can wear every day and that is especially suited for travel. I am always travelling myself so I knew what to look for. It’s been called the Swiss-Army knife of hoodies!” Zane told Lonely Planet News.
The Adv3nture Hoodie is available in different forms, with a basic model, a limited edition version made with premium fabrics and an all-weather, water-resistant version. It is currently funded at $1,070,000 and is on target to beat the highest fashion project ever funded on Kickstarter with one week of pledging to go.
