If you’re planning a cruise anytime soon, you may want to consider what day of the week you actually book your trip.
According to CruiseWatch.com, a search engine that tracks drops in cruise prices, the most discounts are available on Thursdays.
CruiseWatch.com analysed more than 600,000 cruise price reductions, according to a news release. The data showed that Thursdays saw twice as many price drops than Sundays, which saw the least.
“When a sailing is not sold out, most cruise lines will discount the cabins rather than sailing empty. These price drops can make for some incredible deals. But you need to find them and book quickly,” said Britta Bernhard, the co-founder of CruiseWatch.com.
However, it is important to wait until Thursday, as Wednesday is generally a day for price hikes – with the search engine stating that 34% more price hikes occur on Wednesdays than on any other day of the week. If you’re looking for a steady time to book a cruise, the weekend is the optimum time – Saturdays and Sundays see fewer price drops or price hikes.
