Now you can visit a Cheetos Museum in New York and see weirdly shaped cheese-flavoured snacks
New York is home to world-class museums filled with some of the most incredible art from around the world – but now you can forget stopping in at MoMA or the Met and head straight to the Cheetos Museum.
The cheesy treat is the subject of a new museum at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Times Square. Snack lovers can visit an immersive exhibit – made with more than 128,900 Cheetos – and wander the “endless halls of one-of-a-kind Cheetos shapes in a mirror-lined infinity room”.
The company has previously run competitions to find bizarrely-shaped Cheetos, and the new museum will give a chance for the public to take a good look at any strange shapes they may see. With the launch of the new museum, the company is once again on the lookout for Cheetos that look like, well, things other than Cheetos, like pineapples, mullets and more.
And if you want to take part, you can actually submit a photo of any amazing Cheetos you find on the official website until 6 August, with prizes up for grabs. After that, the public will be able to vote on the best shape and the winner will receive an additional $50,000 grand prize and have their Cheetos added to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium collection.
