Japanese women go wild for Shabani the 'handsome' gorilla

A large male gorilla called Shabani has been getting a lot of attention at a zoo in Nagoya, Japan, for his good looks and impressive muscles. Women visitors are apparently ‘flocking’ to check out the 18-year-old 180kg silverback, who has been likened to a male model due to his smouldering, Zoolander-esque stares. Shabani has also won admiration for the way in which he protects his offspring. The gorilla was used in a festival campaign for the zoo earlier this year, and has become something of a national celebrity. Read more: news24.com
