The city of Seoul as approved plans for a new hanok-style hotel complex. The hanok is a traditional Korean house with a tiled roof and wide porch.

The Shilla hotel group will build the luxury accommodation in Jangchung-dong in east-central Seoul not far from the old city wall. The hotel will comprise three stories and 91 rooms designed in traditional hanok architectural style with modern interiors. The city maintains that it has put in place several measures to ensure the wall and surrounding area are protected, including pedestrianised roads leading to the area. Read more: koreaherald.com
