Are the cardboard boxes in your house piling up as your online gift shopping cranks into its highest pre-holiday season gear? And do your kids stop you recycling them as they’re ‘essential’ to their latest game? It’s time to channel their passion for cardboard into creating something fun for the chance to win a lovely bundle of Lonely Planet Kids books!
Ready to get creative?
We want you to take a simple cardboard box, create something amazing with it and then share it with us. Can you make a space rocket? A pizza oven? A totem pole? Or something else that we’ve never seen before? The world really is your cardboard box’s oyster. We would particularly love to see anything travel-themed but we don’t want to limit your creativity, so simply show us your best decorated constructions.
HOW TO ENTER
Please ensure a parent or guardian emails the entry to email@example.com, including all of the following:
- Entrant’s name
- Entrant’s age
- A photograph of the cardboard box creation
- 25 words explaining what the creation is
Entries must be received by 11.59pm (BST) on 11 January 2018. The competition is open to entrants aged under 16. With all entries, please include confirmation that you are happy for us to share your child’s entry on our Lonely Planet Kids blog and excerpts on our Twitter and Facebook pages. Without this confirmation your entry is not valid.
Judging the best entries will be the team behind Cardboard Box Creations, Kait Eaton and Laura Baker. The winner will receive a bundle of Lonely Planet Kids books of their choice worth £150, as well as having their work published on the Lonely Planet Kids blog. Three runners-up will receive a copy of Cardboard Box Creations and 101 Small Ways to Change the World and will also have their work published on the blog.
Lonely Planet may choose to publish other notable entries.
