Greyhound (205-251-3210; 618 19th St N), north of downtown, serves cities including Atlanta, GA ($34, three hours), Huntsville ($20.50, two hours), Montgomery ($23.50, two hours), Jackson, MS ($35, about four hours), and New Orleans, LA ($71.50, 10 hours). Amtrak (205-324-3033; 1819 Morris Ave), downtown, has trains daily to New York ($122, 23 hours) and New Orleans ($34, about seven hours).
Birmingham Transit Authority (205-521-0101; adult $1) runs local buses.
