Work
To work legally in the USA you generally need both a work permit and working visa. To apply for the correct visa at the US embassy you are usually required to obtain a work permit from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) first.
A prospective employer must file a petition with the INS for permission for you to work, so you will first need to find a company that wants to hire you and will file all the necessary paperwork.
More detailed information is available at the website of the US Department of State (www.travel.state.gov).
