Lonely Planet review
You can save yourself a lot of hassle by taking boats run by the Dalyan Kooperatifi , whose members moor on the river southwest of Dalyan's main square.
Boats leave the quayside at 10am or 10.30am heading to Lake Köyceğiz and the Sultaniye hot springs, Kaunos, and İztuzu Beach. The tours, including lunch, cost ₺30 per person.
Boats belonging to the cooperative also operate a river dolmuş service between Dalyan and İztuzu Beach, charging ₺8 to ₺10 for the return trip. In high summer boats head out every 20 minutes from 10am or 10.30am to 2pm and return between 1pm and 6pm. Avoid any trips advertising themselves as `turtle-spotting' tours, which inappropriately lure turtles out during daylight using bait.
If you can drum up a team of like-minded folk, you can hire a passenger boat that holds from eight to 12 people. A two‑hour tour just to Kaunos costs ₺80 for the boat; if you want to visit the Sultaniye hot springs as well, count on three hours and ₺130.
