Introducing Chumphon Province

Most people see Chumphon Province from the window of a fast-moving train as they head towards Thailand's deep south. The capital, Chumphon, doesn't even pretend to be a destination in itself and feels more like a border town: travellers here are generally on their way to Ko Tao or returning to Bangkok after an island getaway.
