Introducing Pattaya to Ko Samet
From Pattaya, most travellers fast-forward down the coast to the day-time calm and occasional night-time chaos of Ko Samet. The little port of Ban Phe is the jumping-off point for the island, but a brief stop in Rayong is usually on the cards for a change of buses. If you’re definitely bound for Samet, it doesn’t make much sense to hang around the mainland beaches, but if you do venture to the other strips of sand and small islands in the vicinity, you’ll probably be the only Western face.
