Hello fellow travelers! My name is Casie, also known as "A Wandering Casiedilla." I am here living in Spain for a year. Lucky me, right?! While doing so, I am traveling around the country, writing advice about the food I eat and the places I visit.
Whose headed to Granada soon?! Or has been there in the past and plan on going back? Then check out my newest post, about great and CHEAP food hot spots to visit while you are there!
Food in Granada: The Land of Tea Huggers and 2 Euro Tapas
We are considering purchasing property from the family in Spain. Does anyone know of an easy method to transfer relatively quantities of money from the US to Spain and converting it do Euros as cheaply as possible?
Can anyone recommend a good agent/ websites for looking for monthly furnished rentals in Seville - many sites either only give daily rates (so over Eur1,000 per month) or list rentals where the only contact is an online form-to-nowhere. Any agents with phone numbers that specialise in monthly furnished rentals? I'm looking for a comfortable 1 bed within 1km of the historical centre, at around Eur600.
Thanks as always,
Hello folks, first post here so bear with me.
My friend and I will be travelling to Gibraltar for a day then on to Granada for two nights, then to Cordoba and finally back to Gibraltar. We are wondering whether it will be better to hire a car or take the train?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
We rode the train down to Madrid and we're talking to the conductor who happens to be related to my cuñado. He said things are quickly filling up for the last weekend of October. So you if you are traveling you might want to get tickets early.
Incidentally we had a 15 minute connection from a regional Express (which is hardly an express since it stops everywhere). We were 16 minutes late in Zaragoza but they held the AVE to Madrid to allow the Twenty plus people to connect. The AVE left 15…
I'll be in Barcelona from 1 November to 7 November (6 full days) by myself. I have the popular attractions on my itinerary but would like some ideas on neighbourhoods/book stores/restaurants that I can explore. I don’t have any set schedule yet so am open to any suggestions. Any help would be much appreciated!
This operation is a typical bait and switch - they pull you in with low rates, try to sell you on exorbitant insurance, and then nail you with bogus fuel policies. We rented a car in Ibiza for 4 days in September. It took Gold Car 2 weeks after returning it to credit the 650E damage deposit, and then they didn't credit the full amount of the fuel deposit, even though the car was returned full.
I regret having used rentalcar.com, and wish I had just stuck to one of the major players like…
me and my girlfriend are planning to do 6 days in andalucia as part of a bigger trip in spain in november.
we really wish to do a decent 2 days hiking trail, about 12-20 KM or a bit more each day.
the first will be in november 1st or 2nd.
we plan not to sleep outdoor, and wish to spend the night at a village/town.
does anyone have a good trip for that?
i was thinking about trails i Sierra de Granzalema but im open-minded for any other location that suites these dates.
thanks a lot to all of…
Heading back to the U.S. this Friday and found the hotel we usually stay at, AC Atocha and its sister AC Carleton both full and the afternoon ALVIA from Tudela, Navarra sold out. Anything special happening in Madrid this weekend?
Alright...this is a very specific question. I am planning to spend 5 days in Madrid. I am used to using Airbnb within USA, but have never used it outside. I think Airbnb is both a cheaper option as well as something that hopefully gives a local touch to my stay.
My question is - are there considerations specific to Spain/ Madrid that make Airbnb a better option or worse option? What kind of questions do I have to ask my host?
