Hi there! Last time I posted in the forums was a few years back for advice on moving to Australia. I've been in Perth and Melbourne for four years now and looking to move to Spain (digital nomad and yoga teacher here.) I'm thinking I'll do a two-three month Spanish course to refresh my Espanol (hope it's like riding a bike!) and then see where that takes me. I grew up in Santa Barbara, Calif so not into the big cities (more large town/small city) and specifically looking for laid-back places…
I will be in Madrid for 3 nights in 2 weeks week, I am on a tight budget.I have a few questions to check with you, one which wasn't answered in a previous forum.
1)The below are the attarctions I want to see. Are these all withing walking distance of the other? My hostel is at Plaza de Celenque. 3-5, Madrid.
2) Are there cheap authentic food places close to these attractions or the Hostel which I can try good local food? Can you name a few please? For savouries and sweets.
3)My next question is…
Can someone please recommend cheap accommodation for Ibiza the 3rd week of August for a week. Wanna be near the beach and have other young, fun travellers around to hang/party with. I'm open to hostels, hostel, camping, airbnb.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thinking of a trip to Archez near Competa at the end of September and was wondering what the weather's like then generally? I can see weather statistics online, but anecdotal tales are useful. Are we talking shorts and T-shirt still? Eating outside in the day and evening? Swimming in an outdoor pool? That sort of info. Thanks for any help.
My partner and I will be doing a 3-week road trip of spain and spending about 3 nights in the Rioja before heading up to San Sebastian. The plan is to do a tour of bodegas and such over that time, and seeing the following places - just wondering if anyone has advice as to which places would be best to stop for the night and any hotel recommendations?
-San Millan de Cogolla
-Santo Domingo de la Calzada
Hi there travellers!
Has anyone been to Cuenca, Cercedilla and Toledo? I'm looking for campsites in the area. I only have 1 week there so would like to choose only 2 out of the three. Any idea which two should I choose? Is there anything you recomnmend and do these require a booking and can I just show up? I will be going in the high season in August.
Hi guys, we are a mother (55) and daughter (20) spending three weeks in southern Portugal and Spain in November. We fly in to Lisbon and train out of Barcelona a bit over 3 weeks later. We love natural scenic wonders, walking, markets, beaches. we also have the opportunity to stay in a house for a week in southern Spain. I know it is not long but we should be able to get a taste of Spain!
Looking for ideas?
We thought a few days in Lisbon and Barcelona and stopping a few places - perhaps A ay…
I'm going to Barcelona for 10 days last week of September and I had a couple of itineraries in mind. I'm flying out of Barcelona as well, so I don't really want to venture too far, since I want to come back to Barcelona the day of my flight back. I have been to Barcelona before and did most of the tourist sights at that time. Right now, I have booked accommodation for 6 days in Barcelona and I'm not sure how to spend the remaining 4 days. Here are my options:
A. Go north and stay in Girona. The…
I am looking to put down a few roots in Southern Spain for perhaps 3 months. I would like to be able to do day trips in the vicinity and maybe do a few nights in Northern Morroco, and maybe a few nights in Portugal. I would also like to be in a city of a reasonable size and enough going on. I am retired, interested in. buildings, galleries, walking - very open minded really. I have been spoilt with ideas from the Thorn Tree community in the passed so thanking you in advance and looking forward…
