Nautilus Dive Center information
Big Corn’s only diving outfitter, Nautilus Dive Center, is run in true island style – relaxed to some, disorganized to others. It gets mixed reviews and some of the equipment is a bit worn. However, it is friendly and staff have good local knowledge.
English-speaking dive guides lead trips to the local reef (US$40 per dive), which has an abundance of hard and soft corals, and two-dive trips to Blowing Rock (US$95). It also offers a cool snorkel tour of a sunken Spanish galleon (US$25). What’s left of the ancient vessel is immersed in 5m of water, but you can see several cannons, an anchor and chestlike structures. Dive packages (10 dives for US$300), and open water (US$280) and advanced open water (US$230) courses are available.
