Hi There,

Myself and my girlfriend are visiting the Maldives on the back of a trip to Sri Lanka. We are thinking about going there for about 4-5 days in late August.

Can anyone recommend a good atoll/ island to base ourselves from? our hotel budget is around 200-300 USD/ night.

We are both experienced divers and live in the Philippines. keen to see mantas if possible. From my research maybe the Male atoll or Baa atoll may be best?

Hey guys, I'm going to be in the Maldives for only about 3 days this week and will pretty much be staying near Male (backpacking budget). However, I want to do some diving and was wondering if there are good spots nearby. The other thing is that I haven't dived in about 5 years and will need a refresher lesson. Is this possible to do there? I heard diving in the Maldives can be pretty great so I really want to experience it while there!

Hello fellow travellers.
I am travelling to the Maldives in September 2016 for my brother's 70th birthday as it is on his bucket list and we are going on a Dhoni trip (with snorkelling only) for 5 days. I would like to scuba dive (40 years experience) with the whale sharks and mantas so my brother is willing to hang for a few days (he is not a diver) and a thorough search of this forum has not turned up any recent requests similar to mine. Contact with dive companies and travel companies in Aust…

My husband and I ( 60 year old) are visiting the Maldives for the first time in early April, for 7 days. We are not fans of snorckling, but we love to swim. Can you please give us an advise in which resort we will be able to swim safely, because we are afraid of sharks and dangerous fishes. Also we are looking for a resort without much humidity and a resort that does not have a lot of mosquitoes .

hi everybody!

i need to be at malé airport on sunday at around 11:30pm and i was wondering if there are any other options apart from the early morning ferry or a private speedboat hire. are there regular sheduled "shared" speedboats? or maybe there's someone who also needs to get to malé on the 13th of march and would like to share the costs of hiring a speedboat? i'm flexible about the departure time as long as it's not too early...

Next year we are going to India and Sri Lanka, we have our travel plan ready for India (Rajasthan, Mumbai, Goa, Kerala) and most of Sri Lanka (Colombo, Anuradhapura, Kandy, Adam’s Peak and Ella).

However an odd problem has shown up, the cost for air fare is for some reason 250 EUR ceaper if we go to the Maldives also ((crazy! you have to pay NOT to go to the Maldives) Sweden – Deli / Colombo –Sweden = 1540 EUR + India – Sri Lanka 300 EUR = 1840 EUR Sweden – Deli / Male –Sweden = 1210 EUR +…

My trip to Maldives, exploring the sandy streets and alleys of Maafushi, scuba diving at the Kuda Giri wreck, relaxing on the deserted island of Villivaru and walking the streets of the capital, Malé.
