I will travel to Pisa next week and I am looking for cheap backpackers hostels near Pisa Centrale.

Where can I stay (or where should I not stay)

Can anyone recommend a reliable tour company offering the above, not viator. I have tried to access their website both using the links in Lonely Planet and directly but keep getting the error message "this website cannot be displayed". I have tried dozens of times with the same result. Is this company still in existence.

Hi. We (myself and my wife) are thinking of going to Sardinia in October. Obviously the weather is going to be warmer the earlier we go but we may not be able to go until the middle of October - let's say the 16th. Please can anyone comment on what the weather is likely to be at the end of October. It may be possible for us to go a week earlier but it looks unlikely at this stage. Would the sea be OK for swimming at the end of October? Thanks in advance of any replies.

My husband and I are heading to Italy (first time for both of us) this holiday season. I have worked out a tentative itinerary, but I am having trouble deciding exactly how much time to allocate due to closures at Christmas and New Year. We both like history and exploring archaeology and historical buildings; I'm also really excited about the amazing art, food, and wine, but my husband is less excited about those. We are both museum people, but my husband will almost certainly be done with art…

Towards the end of Oct and our trip we will be flying into Naples from Sicily. Our main reason for stopping here on our way back to London is to visit Pompeii and time permitting Capri. We realize Sorrento is a good spot for this but seems to be all hotels.

Staying in Naples where would a good area be to search for accommodation in a 60 to 80 Eur price range. Could be off here but cheaper lace as apposed to high end.

Any accommodation suggestions in a lower price range would also be…

24 hours in Rome…

Some photos and intro http://wp.me/p5Lw9a-2

Given that I arrived at night @ the Termini and left in the morning from Fiumicino two days later – technically I had just one full day to run through the eternal city in this trip (and yeah, right, plus the Vatican).

So, I think you wouldn’t disagree if I use “Run!” twice in the title - it was indeed a “Run! Run! Roma” experience. After all, not everyone had seven days to spend in a vacation in one place (although Rome definitely…

Hi my husband and I will be travelling in Italy for three weeks this September with our two year old.
Rome Sep 11-15 (5 days)
Tuscany Sep 16-22 (7 days)
Cinque Terre Sep 23-27 (5 days)
Venice Sep 28-Oct 1 (4 days)

We plan to rent a car in Tuscany and are in the process of booking a charming agriturismo near Pienza in Val d'orcia. We are thinking of taking a train from Rome to Sienna, hire the car there, then drop it off on our last day in Tuscany and travel from Siena to Cinque Terre by train. Does…

Hi

My partner and I are looking to travel from Naples to Sorrento return between 11 - 15 October.

Can anyone advise on the best way to do this and the easiest way to book?

I have heard that the hydrofoil is the better option but am finding it hard to get up-to-date information.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

flying into Rome and then renting car and heading out to countryside. Trouble deciding where to spend 2 nights before joining friends in hill town in Tuscany. We love the sea and sailing but have also heard Assisi is so special - esp. the crypt - and not to be missed. Would it be crazy to drive to Assisi for one night and then to Porto Ercole, Castiglione della Pescaia area for one night before heading to Tuscany hills? Any recommendations on charming, clean and small, village place to stay…
