Volcán San Pedro information

Looming above the village, Volcán San Pedro almost asks to be climbed by anyone with a bit of energy and adventurous spirit. It is the most accessible of the three volcanoes in the zone and, as it’s classified as a municipal ecological park, it’s regularly patrolled by tourism police. Guides can take you up from San Pedro for Q130, including entrance fee.

The ascent is through fields of maize, beans and squash, followed by primary cloud forest. It's a three-hour climb and two hours back down; take water, snacks, a hat and sunblock.
