Brandenburg Gate
Lonely Planet review for Brandenburg Gate
A symbol of division during the Cold War, this landmark now epitomises German reunification. The 1791 structure by Carl Gotthard Langhans is the only surviving one of 18 city gates and is crowned by the Quadriga sculpture, a horse-drawn chariot piloted by the winged goddess of victory.

Of course! You're NOT in Berlin if you never see the gate.
yuke recommends this,
Actually the gate is the only thing to see here. But the one that attracted me is the historical background of the place. Behind the no-longer-existing walls stood so many stories, wars, killings, and lots of untold stories that had created today's modern Germany. And most important, this is the most famous spot in Berlin. You're definitely wasting your time if you come to Berlin without seeing this monumental work.
