Winchester is 65 miles from London and 15 miles from Southampton.

Land

Bus

National Express has several direct buses to London Victoria Bus Station (£12.60, 2¼ hours). Buses also run to Southampton (30 minutes). Wilts & Dorset (adult/child £6.50/3.25) explorer tickets let you roam the region to the west, including the New Forest.

Train

Train is often the more direct option. Trains leave every 20 minutes from London Waterloo (£22, one hour) and Southampton (15 to 23 minutes) and hourly from Portsmouth (£7.90, one hour). There are also fast links to the Midlands.
