Bus

International

The main terminal for international buses is Florenc Bus Station (ÚAN Florenc; 12999; Křižíkova 4, Karlín; Florenc), 600m northeast of the main train station (ÚAN is short for Ústřední autobusové nádraží, or ‘central bus station’).

At Florenc get information at windows 6 to 21 (6am-9pm), or use the touch-screen computer.

Eurolines (245 005 245; www.elines.cz; ÚAN Florenc Bus Station; 8am-7pm Mon-Fri; Florenc) has bus services covering all of Europe.

Domestic

All long-distance domestic buses and many regional services (such as those for excursions around Prague) depart from Florenc bus station. Some regional buses depart from stands near the metro stations of Anděl, Dejvická, Černý Most, Hradčanská, Nádraží Holešovice, Radlická, Roztyly, Smíchovské Nádraží, Zlinčín and Želivského. Check online bus timetables and departure points at www.jizdn irady.cz.

Get information on which buses leave for which destinations at Florenc’s information desk (900 144 444; 6am-9pm) or use the touch-screen computer.

Short-haul tickets are sold on the bus. Long-distance domestic tickets are sold at the station from AMS windows 1 to 4 in the central hall, or direct from the nearby Student Agency (www.studentagency.eu) or Megabus (www.megabus.cz) offices. With most ticketing, you can book ahead from 10 days to 30 minutes prior to your departure.

There are generally more departures in the morning. Buses, especially if full, sometimes leave a few minutes early, so be there about 10 minutes before departure time. Many services don’t operate on weekends, so trains are a better bet then.

Florenc has a left-luggage office (úschovna zavazadel; 5am-11pm), upstairs on the left beyond the main ticket hall.

The key bus companies are Student Agency and Megabus, which also have branches at Prague’s Ruzyně airport.

Student Agency Central Prague (224 999 666; Ječná 37; Nové Město 9am-6pm Mon-Fri; IP Pavlova); Florenc (224 894 430; www.studentagencybus.com; 9am-6pm Mon-Fri; Florenc) Linking major Czech cities and has services throughout Europe.
