    A fine way to escape the crowds and pollution of Běijīng is to head to this homely yoga retreat in the Fragrant Hills. Located in a wooden house, there are lungfuls of fresh air to breathe in and visiting teachers to instruct you. A single day costs Y150, otherwise it costs from Y300 for overnight stays.   7. Beijing International Golf Club

    This Japanese-designed 18-hole course is 35km north of town, close to the Ming Tombs and north of Shisanling Reservoir. Hitting that little ball around is not cheap, but the greens are in top condition and the scenery is spectacular. You can rent a set of golf clubs and shoes for an additional fee. You will also have to pay the compulsory caddy fee of Y200. A taxi from downtown Běijīng will take 90 minutes via the Badaling Expressway.

    This serene, up-scale spa is the perfect place to rejuvenate after a hard day pounding Beijing’s streets. There are great Chinese or Thai massages, as well as wraps and facials. The foot reflexology massages are especially good. There are 40% discounts before 5pm during the week. It’s opposite the north gate of the Workers Stadium.
