Introducing Caravelas
Caravelas is a calm fishing town on the banks of the mangrove-lined Rio Caravelas. Though it has a friendly, down-home Carnaval and a pleasant enough atmosphere, the primary reason visitors come here is to visit the Parque Nacional Marinho de Abrolhos and other offshore reefs.

The distance Caravelas to Vitoria is around 400 km; by direct bus 7 - 8 hours but they stop for lunch etc. There is probably one or 2…

I stayed in Caravelas and booked a day tour from there. We were joined by more people outside town who must have come from nearby resorts.…
