For the benefit of everyone dropping by the Brazil branch for the first time, please read this FAQ first. And I hope there can be some sort of way to moderate the thread to keep it updated and clean. I know there are some AWESOME regular contributors here who enjoy giving advice; I feel this thread can really help to condense the information available.
I'll go first, with some general thoughts from the South America FAQ. Many thank to Apollo for starting that thread and for a great idea…
I have read many posts on TRIP-ADVISOR** regarding Buses Natal-Fortaleza, but we want to go the other way the first week of July. All the Bus websites show no availability Fortelaza-Natal, but then again, I read that Bus schedules are not posted until 30 days before departure...
Would we have any trouble booking a bus Fortaleza-Natal the first week of July? Should we wait and book on the ground when we get to Fortaleza?
Dear fellow travellers,
in October i will make time to follow the Amazon.
But....i need your expertise:
Is it worth to go for 6 days to Santa Elena (Venezula)?
Do you have suggestions?
Thank you for reading this topic.
On Friday I go to Salvador via plane.
I'm sure the cambios at the airport are a rip off! And then it's the weekend as I arrive late Friday night.
Where do you think over the weekend I can get a good rate for usd as well as during the week? The current rate to sell usd?
I will be staying in Rio Vermelho
Many thanks. Muito obrigado
Im travelling to Rio between Aug 4th to Aug 19th solo, and just wondering if anyone else is around and fancied some site seeing company!!
I'm 27 and from the UK, I've travelled solo a fair bit in the past, but lets face it, a Caipirinha (Brazilian drink!) is gonna be alot better with company :D
On the tail end of this, anyone have an advice for...-
-good/reliable hostels to stay at?
-places to visit? (besides the standard things on the first page of Google)
-anywhere else I could visit…
We are an Australian family heading to Rio and Brazil in July /August for the Olympics.
It has been organised for over a year now but am just revisiting some aspects.
We are experienced travellers but have not travelled to South America before. We speak no Portuguese.
We are staying in the Lagao area ( Fonte de Saudade)for 21 days and have tickets for events at the Deodoro zone .
Does anyone know transport options to get to that zone. We understand transport is not as far advanced as it…
I'll be arriving at IGU at about 1410h. Was thinking of making a run for the Brazilian side of the Falls before it closes at 5pm. Any recommendation on how I can do that?
I'm thinking luggage store at the park but not sure what are my options if that is all taken up.
Also, how much and how fast to take a taxi from IGU to the Falls (Brazil side)?
I'm looking at buying domestic flights for Brazil online and there is one 'fare condition' I'm unsure about and want to clarify before going ahead with the transaction.
Under the 'Fare Regulations', it states "Advanced Purchase: 28 days". Does anyone know what this means???
I emailed GOL but no word yet.
Any help much appreciated!
Hi there, I have been traveling now for 11 mo in SA and am sorta tired. And, I am looking for a place on the Brazilian coast to spend the winter... I don't want just a beach town. I am looking for a town/city with services, safe (as far as can be expected), like the tropics a lot, but it doesn't have to be there, not too fond of highrises that crowd the beach.....AND pretty beaches.... have been to Rio, Paraty, Ubatuba, Araial do Cabo, Buzios, Saquarema. But, still looking. So, can anyone…
