Murray Rose Pool information
Not really a pool at all, family-friendly Murray Rose (named after a champion Olympic swimmer) is a large, shark-netted enclosure that is one of the harbour's best swimming spots. As the closest swimming spot to the city, it attracts an urbane cross-section of inner-eastern locals. A boardwalk runs around the top of the shark net, and there are two sought-after floating pontoons.
From New South Head Rd, access it via Woollahra Council's town hall or pleasant Blackburn Gardens.
The neighbouring Seven Shillings Beach is a semiprivate stretch of sand that runs around the Point Piper waterfront. From here there are spectacular views towards the Bridge.
