Hilton Izmir
Luxuriating in grey marble, the Hilton stands out above all for fabulous views from rooms, restaurants and bars, and good facilities (including health club, pool, tennis and squash courts).
İzmir's waterfront is dominated by large high-end business hotels, while inland are more budget and midrange options, particularly around Kemeraltı Bazaar and Basmane train station.

Swissotel has adapted well to the Turkish market, and this Izmir branch is no exception. Occupying a prime location overlooking Cumhuriyet Meydanı and the bay, the Grand Efes is the choice location for business and glamour travel.
A short taxi ride east of the city, this popular business hotel is good value and the 25 large suites are perfect for longer stays or families with small kids. The bathrooms are huge and the furniture ample for a big night in.
The newer Baylan is Basmane's best option. The entrance via the huge carpark is a little disconcerting, but inside is a spacious and attractive hotel with a welcoming terrace out the back. All rooms have polished floorboards and large bathrooms.
One of Basmane's better choices, the Good İzmir is friendly, safe and terribly convenient for bus and train access. The rooms are nothing special – avoid the small and damp few – but it's good value for money at the low end.
