This colourful weekly market, behind Jama Masjid, is similar to ones held all over the Bastar region, a tribal stronghold of Chhattisgarh. Adivasis walk miles to come here to buy and sell goods ranging from mountains of red chillies to dried mahuwa, a flower used to make a potent liquor of the same name.
