This stunning boutique hotel – by far Puerto Montt’s best – in the old neighborhood of Modelo is full of furniture (headboards, wardrobes) fashioned from rescued railway trestles.
This family home is as welcoming as can be, with plenty of art and bric-a-brac on the walls and a fresh coat of paint and new mattresses. Perla and her family will have you feeling like a sibling.

Urmeneta is a cozy spot with a lovely owner, clean rooms and firm beds. Some of the rooms are dark for lack of exterior windows. Rates include breakfast.
Located 6km west of town on the road to Chinquihue, this has pleasant sites with hot showers. Local buses from the bus terminal will drop you at the entrance.
A quick but uphill walk from the bus terminal, Vista Hermosa is run by a sweet woman and has plush (by budget standards) rooms. Beds are comfortable and rooms have cable TV.
You’ll be greeted with open arms at this traveler’s mainstay five blocks from the Navimag. It has a large sunny kitchen full of travel info and warm wooden walls and floors.
