Abba Centrum is a hugely attractive option, right by the bus station and with the train station a short walk away. Popular with business visitors, its weekend rates (August too) drop to a bargain €65 per room.
Within an old Dominican convent, this glorious five-star choice harmoniously blends the traditional and ultramodern.
Each of the 142 rooms and 39 suites has a balcony overlooking either beach or marina. Among the many facilities at this hyperhealthy four-star option are pools, gym and a wellness centre. Then again, no one will care if you simply slob around.
Pension con Encanto is a welcoming, exceptionally well priced budget choice. There are eight bedrooms, each decorated with flair and most of them large. The five apartments in the same building also represent outstanding value.
The Miracle, which feels a bit like a youth hostel, is in fact an excellent-value budget choice, with simple rooms, a small guest kitchen, washing machine and roof terrace. It’s a good place to meet other backpackers.
