Chinatown Complex

Lonely Planet review for Chinatown Complex
Once famously rundown and grungy, Chinatown Complex was inevitably closed for upgrading at the time of writing. Hopefully, when it reopens, the singular charms of its wet market, barking stallholders and famous hawker centre will not be lost – but we have our doubts.

Fun shopping, food center, and wet market
nadmac recommends this,
Walk around Chinatown itself, picking up interesting trinkets, clothing, food, and traditional Chinese medicine. Be sure to haggle! It's expected.
Head over to the food center for traditional hawker food, plus a few more shops. Then head downstairs to the wet market, where you can find fresh meats, fish, fruits and vegetables. It's fun to just wander around and see the various items for sale, including live frogs and alligator meat.
Prices tend to be better than in the supermarkets, and the foods are fresher. Singapore has very high sanitation standards for wet markets, so be reassured that the meat and fish are safe to eat.

Lots of good foods
flurryicy recommends this,
For people who want to enjoy good food and yet has limited budget and do not mind eating in a non-aircon place, you can try chinatown complex. Some of the recommended foods are hainanese chicken rice, laksa, mango sago, mutton soup and more...Definitely worth the money!

Newly Renovated
eveho recommends this,
This famous food centre is newly renovated, so it is not as smoky and stuffy as before. This is a one-stop food paradise for all foodies and travellers because it houses all the local favorites under one roof. Some of the must-try stalls are "Er Gu Desserts", claypot rice by 4 sisters, yam cake and many more for your exploration...
