Rug Stall

Jebel Shams

Entrepreneurial carpet sellers have set up open-air shop at the bottom of Jebel Shams, capitalising on the fact that most people stop at Wadi Ghul to take a photograph of the abandoned village opposite. They sell rugs handwoven from coarse goat hair in natural colours, produced for generations on Jebel Shams.
