Lonely Planet review for Icelandic Fish & Chips

A reader-recommended restaurant serving hearty portions of…well, have a guess! It’s good-value fare (for Iceland, at least), and the owners have put their own singular slant on it with a range of ‘Skyronnaises’ – skyr-based sauces (eg rosemary and green apple) that add an unusual zing to this most traditional of dishes.

Really great place! So many different types of fish!

    EBST recommends this,

Nice simple decor, english menu and a bit off the beaten path. One of my best dinners, without the hype of the fancy fish houses.

    Delicious!

    kylaclay recommends this,

Yes, you will be coming here for fish and chips, but you will not be disappointed. It is not expensive if you consider this includes tax and tip. Once I converted it to Canadian and included tax and tip it was similar.

The food, however is delicious. Yes try the dips, and order a side of onion rings. The fish is so fresh and coated with a spelt barley thin batter.

A bit hard to find the first time, look way down by the harbour.
