Lonely Planet review for Babalú
More inviting than your own living room, this first-floor cafe is ubercute. It only sells tea, coffee, hot chocolate and the odd crêpe, but once you’ve settled into one of its snug corners you won’t want to move. A teeny wooden balcony gives you a great vantage point over Skólavörðustígur, and in summer there’s occasional live music.

My favorite place that I stumbled upon. Super bohemian cozy, great coffee, homemade baked goods, knick-knacks everywhere, scrabble, other board games, glass of wine, beer, free wi-fi, friendly smiling staff, like you are in someone's living room!!
If I lived there I would go every day!!
I looooved it so much. -
Iceland's Coziest Cafe!

This little Bohemian cafe is simply wonderful and totally inviting! The owner and staff are charming and friendly! The hot chocolate and the strawberry crepe dessert are not to be missed! In addition to coffee, tea, and dessert, Babalu serves other dishes such as savory crepes, veggie lasagna, and even Matzo Ball Soup! It's a wonderful and affordable place for people who are traveling alone or with friends!
