    This bohemian café in a former artists' squat was one of the Neustadt's first post-Wende pubs. The menu is sorted by compass direction (borscht to quiche Lorraine to smoked fish) and there's a sweet little beer garden out the back, and a gallery and pension upstairs.

    The tourist-oriented 1730's theme may be a bit overdone, but the costumed wenches do actually serve up good local specialities and wines. Try the famous Dresden Trichter (drinking funnel).
