Reception is up the back of a low-key local drinking den, but the modern rooms have zippy silver sheets and a big comfy armchair as well as plenty of space.
Tuukkalan Tila offers appealing farmhouse accommodation and fine facilities. From the Ristiina turn-off on the main road, head south a further 1.5km and turn right towards Mäntyharju. The farm is signposted off this road.

In the centre of town, this is a small motel attached to a popular pizza restaurant and Finnish dance spot. Its 10 double rooms are simply decorated and perfectly comfortable; there are also cabins available, popular with anglers.
Located 7km southwest of town, this camping ground has good facilities but fills up quickly during July. You can hire canoes, bikes and row boats here. Prices for rooms and cabins are cheaper in June and August.
Kievari Enonhovi is an HI-affiliated hostel and hotel-restaurant in Enonkoski village, close to the national park. It’s a very pleasant place, with a terrace, parkland leading down to the river and occasional live music in summer.
In a perfect harbourside location, this brand-new complex of buildings surrounding a courtyard again arouses envy of Finland’s student population, some of whom normally reside here.
