This is a delightful seaside spot, which can feel like your very own villa. Rooms are basic with share bathrooms, but cheerful staff keep the place running like clockwork. Guests also have use of the rowing boats and sauna.
This hotel close to the centre of town is an older-style place with tight rooms but it is one of Mariehamn’s most affordable. There’s also the bonus of a breakfast buffet that includes Swedish kaviar and other continental items.
This place is on the main boulevard. The rooms feel particularly Scandinavian with their polished pine floors; they are spacious and light. The hotel also has a popular sunny public terrace. Rates are significantly cheaper on Sunday nights.
The summer-only Gästhem Neptun is run by Gästhem Kronan. Gästhem Neptun is the newer of the two, and breakfast and linen are included.
Just a 15-minute walk south of the centre, this seaside camping ground is a great place to stay. The beach is good for swimming, and, while the tent spaces can be a bit cramped, the brand new cabins are very cute and cosy.
This is one of the more peaceful places to stay in Mariehamn. It's pleasantly situated near an inlet, 3km south of the centre.
This guesthouse is handily close to the Västerhamn ferry port but a bit of a hike from the centre.
One of the best hotels on the island, this is a high-class spot that caters well to business visitors, though water views from the balconies are tempting for anyone. As well as wi-fi there’s a small business centre and a spacious sauna.
This family-owned hotel has pleasant, older-style rooms that include minibars, TVs and space-saving fold-out shavers that are a marvel. It’s handy for the town centre but a hike from the ferry.
This modern hotel close to the ferry terminal is pretty ugly from outside but has light and comfy rooms as well as a restaurant, sports bar, and indoor pool. The décor veers towards the maritime. It has a cheaper annexe across the road.
