Just off the main drag, this strip hotel has super-clean rooms, but lacks the common-area ambiance of other hostals.

Best camping option, although it's a long haul east of town at the Pozo 3. The pluses: a fantastic swimming pool, ample sites shaded by tamarugo trees, BBQs and picnic tables. Popular with families on weekends.

Built and run by a resident archaeologist, using a circular design inspired by the Aldea de Tulor site, the Tulor is a bit more basic than the neighboring Kimal, but has nice tasteful rooms. The pool was dirty when we were there.

New backpacker hostel with a courtyard bar, outgoing staff and a youthful feel. Showers are spotless and rooms comfortable. Luggage storage available.Most budget places request that solo travelers share a room in the busy summer period.
A relaxed holiday atmosphere dominates in this carefully laid-out complex of one-story rooms. Its patio is lit by solar-powered lights and scattered with picnic tables, while a smaller cactus-riddled courtyard adjoins.
Spongy beds and small plain rooms are big drawbacks at this centrally located hotel. The rooms are strung along an inner breezeway and a shady courtyard. While you can probably do better, if everything is full up, you should consider the Tambillo.
