Surfing Heritage & Culture Center

Coastal Orange County

This foundation gives a timeline of surfing history by exhibiting surfboards ridden by the greats from Duke Kahanamoku to Kelly Slater, and its photo archive has some 100,000 photos (a tiny fraction may be on display at any one time). Temporary exhibits (photos, skateboarding, and more) change out approximately every three months.

It's in an office park in the rolling hills a few miles inland from the beach.
