Introducing Dashogus
A Soviet model-town, Dashogus consists of an enormous boulevard lined with concrete buildings separated by vast acres of emptiness. Although there is little to attract the visitor, it does serve as a key transit point for travellers heading to or from Uzbekistan. Its most interesting features include the unusual dinosaur sculptures in the town centre and the excellent Bai Bazaar, a colourful market where you can buy pretty much anything.
