Lonely Planet review
At the foot of the De Gooyer Windmill, Amsterdam's leading organic microbrewery produces fabulous brews, which you can taste on a 30-minute tour (admission includes a beer). The tasting room has a cosy beer-hall feel, with dried hops and bottles lining the walls. If you're not taking a tour, it's definitely worth dropping by for a drink.
Most of the beer brewed here never leaves the building, so it's fresh as well as eco-friendly.
In addition to seasonal brews, try Brouwerij 't IJ's latest success story, a dark blonde IPA (India Pale Ale), the sweet, 9% amber Columbus, or the Amsterdams Bruin (Amsterdam Brown Ale), also known as Collaboration #1, as it's the first brewing collaboration between Brouwerij ‘t IJ and Brouwerij de Prael.
In nice weather enjoy your beer out on the terrace.
