White Horses

Sea Point to Hout Bay

The running aground of the SS South African Seafarer in 1966 was the inspiration for Kevin Brand's White Horses. The ship's cargo included plastic white horses, some of which washed up on the shore nearby. Each of the slightly askew horse sculptures here has a horn in its mouth; speak into one horse and the sound comes out the mouth of another.
