Iron Chef Nobu Matsuhisa's sequel to his NYC establishment is almost as good as the original. The setting is postmodern Zen, with glowing yellow lanterns, private dining 'pods' and sociable teppanyaki grill tables. Stick with Nobu's classics such as black cod with miso, South American–influenced tiradito (a lighter version of ceviche), spicy edamame and fusion sushi rolls. Reservations essential.

If you can't afford a full meal, grab one of the 300-odd seats in the lounge and order cocktails and appetizers.
