1830

Tasman Peninsula & Port Arthur

The food is anything but prison rations at this swish restaurant inside the main visitor centre at the Port Arthur Historic Site. Looking through slit windows to the penitentiary (which is lit at night) and serving the likes of Cape Grim beef and a lasagne of Cygnet mushrooms,1830 is as slick and dark as a city wine bar.

It's open for drinks from 4pm.
